Dear Valued BOC Customer,
I want to personally update you on recent developments affecting BOC’s accreditation operations in four states. This message seeks to provide the facts surrounding this sudden and unexpected change in BOC operations, and to assure you that this situation does not affect your facility or our services in your state.
BOC has provided accreditation services nationwide for more than 15 years and has never received concerns from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). However, recently, following the conviction of a former third-party surveyor for fraudulent conduct, CMS directed BOC to suspend new accreditation and reaccreditation activities in California, Florida, New York, and Texas.
What This Means for Accredited Facilities in These Four States:
Facilities located in CA, FL, NY, and TX currently holding BOC accreditation will retain their accredited status and remain in good standing through their accreditation expiration date. Facilities in CA, FL, NY, and TX with expiration dates between May 2025 and 2026 will certainly need to work with another CMS-deemed accreditation organization for their accreditation needs as BOC is not permitted to offer reaccreditation services until CMS allows it.
